Im glad you pointed out DK's orange fur is just a visual indicator of bananergy and not the actual fur colour

Rool uses his Propellerpack from Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble but you can see part of it resembles KAOS, the secondary villain of the same game.

You forgot to mention that the Bananza forms are inspired by old buddy animals: Ostrich is Expresso from DKC1, Elephant is Ellie from DKC3, and Snake is Rattly from DKC2. Their signature abilities are the same, too.

2:30: That, and fans think Cranky is Game Boy DK, but that’s not the case either. Like the Super Mario Bros. Movie by illumination being released prior to Bananza, Miyamoto’s design of DK, that he proposed to Rare, had an early debut a few months prior to Donkey Kong Country, in a Game Boy game that was also the predecessor of Mario vs. Donkey Kong.
While it’s likely Cranky would be the Arcade DK in the new context by Rare, he wouldn’t be Game Boy DK in the context of having a bias that’s hyper-fixated on games from before the Video Game Crash of 1983; Cranky would likely denounce the Game Boy game being considered a 100% pure arcade port, because 90% of the Game Boy Game was new content.
9:21: Given what I said earlier, this could also mean that DK Jr. is not Cranky’s son, nor is he DK himself. In Game Boy DK, Junior joins DK at the Jungle world, and aids his Papa in stopping Mario. Considering the original Arcade game had no in-game mentions of the Lady and Carpenter, Donkey Kong Jr. for the Arcade could be recontextualized as a sequel to Game Boy Donkey Kong, as both the DKJR Arcade Game and Game Boy game mentioned Mario by name. Not to mention, in Mario Tennis for the N64, DK Jr. is present alongside Rare’s DK, with no convoluted mention of DK Jr. being a de-aged Modern DK.
