Thinking about building a simulator setup? Before you jump to the end, each section in this video covers a different topic. And the one that matters most might surprise you.

Watch at least until the “Ease of Use” section — that’s where my opinion completely changed.

Also: if you’re wondering “why not VR?”, I’ve got a separate video linked here 👇
https://youtu.be/ZVcTQS2RGrU

I don't care what anyone says, the right choice is what makes you play more. If the projectors caused you to lose joy in your hobby, then the projectors had to go. Good on you.

The curved projector screen looked so good and watching the build was awesome. But I could see maintenance was going to be a challenge. Sometimes you just want to jump in and chill fly for an hour without an hour of setup and tweaking settings. But, honestly, my favorite part of my rig is when my kids say "Dad, can I fly?"

Thank you for both introducing me to and at the same time discouraging me from a projector setup within about 3 minutes. 😅

That feeling with oled vr... When cozy light from star shine on you face... You feel that light even with closed eyes on hairs. Surreal feeling. No screen so far did that to me in Elite.....

I have a simpit setup I basically threw away. I spent more time calibrating the screens then I did playing games

I'd take a simpit over VR any day (due in large part to montion sickness)

Lord have mercy dude, your breathing is so incredibly labored while you're just talking and standing still. Do be sure to get that checked out if you've not done so already. As someone who works with people who can de-saturate and faint by sitting up too fast on a daily basis. You're scaring me with your breathing.

the recalibration annoyance is why I stopped using VR , screens are comfortable and convenient. i like the project for flat screen though

I think you hit the nail on the head. Ease of use is paramount - if you have to spend time setup you will play a lot less.
