Refreshing to see some actual intelligent, nuanced, and comprehensive analysis in an age where there is so much rubbish being churned out by most Youtubers in a race to not only create content but release it quickly.

I for one have far more interest in waiting and getting more detailed and nuanced analysis.

Worth noting that De Zerbi did have a very simple gameplan for spurs last season when he saved them from relegation. He’s trying complex ideas and is greatly backed because he delivered when spurs were on the verge of relegation.

Think having two actual wide forwards who can either control the ball or are not a fullback will raise the floor more than De Zerbi’s tactics.

Saw the note about Alex - As a new dog dad, my advice is to not eat the dog but to feed it
Don't walk on it, take it for walks
Try to pet it instead of it petting you
and so on and so forth

De Zerbi bought his time by saving us last season. He deserves the full season without any noise

It's also good to note that Jaissle did tweak a few things from the Liverpool game to suit Tottenham so it shows he can be flexible with his tactics and game management. Something that isn't mentioned in the podcast. Time will tell which one of these managers get it right.

You'll notice Tonali often bounces that pass first time backwards to the CB. Does it way too often, which is why getting £100m for him was outstanding business for Newcastle.

Spurs fullbacks that started weren't at the highest level

In other words De Zerbi plays high maintenance football and needs a ton of perfection in order for his ideal system to work

Very welcome analysis. Nothing like this anywhere else.
