  Their intelligence actually wasn't far off from us. If not the same then it's just slightly less intelligent. Their bodies just require so much fuel and energy to sustain that an abrupt change in environment killing off animals thus limiting their food could impact Neanderthals greatly.

Homo Sapiens and Neanderthals are both human. At some point there was up to 5 different species of human living together at the same time that were all specialized a little differently

We are actually pretty similar in terms of brains and tech at the time, some people say they were smarter than us. Humans had bigger groups and were more social. That was more the deciding factor in my opinion, better coordination and just greater numbers. Good chance that Homo Sapiens were actually more aggressive and violent too, since we had more people to feed and one guy dying meant less we were more likely to attack them.

Bro we don’t even even need crossbows we would just make spears that could fly much faster and pick them off in the groups that they were in(much smaller than us)
