ah, i love the good ol' classic "we can't write a way to get Spider-Man to the next scene, so let's just turn off his spider-sense or make him physically weaker for a second"

There's a separate phenomenon for Spider-Man that isn't just recency bias, where everyone is so starved for quality content, that anything that is just mildly acceptable is glazed and considered one of "the best since [insert title]". It really sucks because studios take the wrong lessons from things like this

I think one of the worst trends for modern Spiderman related adaptations is turning Peter into a boy scout. Peter is turned into a golden boy of purity whose only issue is that he is too much of a good person sometimes. It's almost a flanderisation of Peter, because so much of his original edge, selfishness, and ego as a character is removed, and it takes away such a core aspect of why Spiderman on the whole works.

People on twitter really saw the final swing scene with the original spiderman suit and started glazing this as the best show for the character ever. We need higher standards.

 Finally!
I’m glad these “differences” are being criticised, we shouldn’t be afraid to criticise these things for the fear of being shut down with
“not everything needs to be comic accurate”, ok but not all differences are GOOD differences if they cheapen the story

I think this show has genuine potential, however these criticisms are on point

Nothing will ever beat the Spectacular Spider-Man. It’s the best Spider-Man show to this day.

For me, the most unrealistic part of the show is that a skinny ginger kid with glasses is made to be a threatening bully

The scene where Spidey pulls the brick into the mugger’s head threw me off, because I thought that dude could’ve died from a hit with a tool that’s potentially lethal, especially at the force it was pulled at. But it’s okay, I guess, because it established that the regular humans must be street level in this universe, seeing as how that guy lived with no notable damage mentioned or shown, besides getting knocked out 😂

Now that I think about it, outside of the Scorpion plot and the Peter/Nico drama, this whole season was just setup without payoff. It felt very empty by the end

Insane to me how we still haven't gotten a Spider-Man show even close to being as good as Spectacular Spider-Man
