  I remember what my teacher told me at the end of studies - anybody can play, but rare ones can really teach. And Julia is a true teacher. Btw this is EXACTLY how my teacher explained me the bow hand. Today, me as a teacher, I’m soooo careful and thoughtfull with my words - one wrong word, and you give someone the whole opposite idea of what to do!

  I love to hear the stories that happened with real students...<br>Also I think that many times teachers are not properly understood just because of the expressions they use to communicate. As Prof Julia states here, the underlying mechanism stays invariant and therefore should be used as souce of truth. On top of it, whatever people wish to call the effects of the mechanism, its their choice. But when teaching we should focus on the mechanism and objetivity, not interpretation. Prof Julia is totally correct there!

  Thank you for being super picky about the exact words and terms people use.<br>It really helps me as an adult beginner understand. Because if we see a masterclass or our teacher says &quot;use the weight&quot;, we do take it literal, because we want to take every advice as precisely as possible. But its not about weight, its about mass. Because mass you can apply horizontally (onto the E string) and regardless of gravity.<br>So its very important people say the correct terms, thank you for taking time to really explain it in extreme detail.
