That cadenza is simply mind-blowing

Zimerman picked the BEST conductor for these concertos. Seiji Ozawa. Ozawa is INSANELY perfect, and has very very very high standards. Ridiculously sharp ears. And that’s one of the reasons why they sound perfect together.

11:49 is the cleanest most perfect interpretation I have ever heard coming out of the cadenza period!

The recording I have is Ashkenazy and Previn and it's good, but this is way better! How can two performances of the same piece be so different. So glad to have YouTube, especially since this performance is conducted by Seiji Ozawa who died in February this year. RIP Seiji, thank you for all the beautiful music you gave the world. ❤
