  Interesting so lures with both dark and light colors do offer better versatility as they make it easier for the fishes to spot the lure in either situations

  I used to fish a large farm pond that, for some reason, the water was always dark, almost black (Tannins, of course!). The largest bass were always caught on a pitch black Heddon Tadpolly w/ white stripes and you had to bury the nose in muck. Largemouth bass from 4-8# would prefer that over anything else I through...Small ones loved the $0.78 Black and Orange spinners!

  When the fish are looking up &nbsp;or across at your lure is one contrast mode. Looking down against the bottom color (sand, mud, grass) is a completely different contrast mode. Then factor in lure depth/darkening factor.

  Thats why a dark with a chartreuse tail work very well
