Your video was really helpful, thank you! I did this hike yesterday, but skipped the Rock Garden. I'm a "bit" older than you and wasn't sure how I'd go. I can say the last 2 hours were gruelling. I started at about 8:20am, so had no light issues. Was an amazing day, just that downclimb at the end did a number on my knees (even with hiking poles). So impressed to see so many elderly people doing this hike. I can't believe their strength & energy!

Thanks for this very helpful!!! We are trying to go this Sunday and I'm taking 2 girls with me who are beginners but very fit because they run and lift weights. We're planning to start at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRCguapFalg&t=555">09:15</a> and depending on everyone's pace I'll decide that day if we should go back the same way after Odake or head to Okutama.. I think they'll enjoy the Rock Garden a lot.
