I grew up watching Philip Carey on the soap opera 'One Life to Live' as the kick a$$ S.O.B. Asa Buchanan 😂😂😂 The first movie I saw him in was 'Calamity Jane' and I still have a crush on him. He was an excellent actor and so handsome ❤ He had a steady career for more than fifty years. I wish classy movies such as this were still produced today.

“The gold rush days are over. You need more than a pick and shovel to strike it rich.” LOVE IT! So many good lines!

ASTONISHING that a 1950s movie mustered so much genuine sympathy--and good writing--for a female character on this sort of a rampage. Usually, they're just demonized. 👍👍👍

I really enjoyed this movie. It has everything to make it worth watching: a good plot, excellent actors, classy wardrobe and hair style, easy dialogues, a great turning point. And what I like most is the tricks of shadows and lights to make it suspenful. That is why I am a film noir fan. It is a shame the industry does not produce films like these anymore.
Miss Alene performance was so intense and she kept herself in the character well done portrayed.
Thanks for sharing this piece of gem!!
