  Dude, admitting that you made a female protagonist in a horror movie because you couldn&apos;t imagine ANY father EVER wanting to save his own child is absolutley insane. If that guy is married, I feel bad for his wife.

  The thing Return to Silent Hill revealed to me is that the consistent, fatal flaw of the Silent Hill movies is that they want a protagonist who’s a good person to fight against the Silent Hill monsters and triumph. And that’s just… not the games. And I unapologetically love the first movie, “mother is god in the eyes of a child” goes hard.

  Imagine playing through original SH and not coming out thinking Harry was a character you could see a man playing. Dude fights a god for his daughter, arguably the best dad in any video game

  FUN FACT there&apos;s a meme in Argentina (the country where I&apos;m from) with the name &quot;silent hill&quot; cause the way the word hill it&apos;s pronounced sounds like a slang term we have for &quot;stupid&quot; or &quot;idiot&quot;, so whenever there&apos;s fog around the capital people are basically saying &quot;silence, idiot&quot; and joking about it. It&apos;s really stupid but I love to share it

  I&apos;m so so intrigued as to why it seems so many game adaptions take interesting concepts and just makes them so much more boring. The man who kills his sick wife, justifying it with it being a mercy and all the guilt from before and after that is so much more interesting than &quot;a guys girlfriend died because she was in a poison ingesting cult and now he&apos;s sad about it&quot;. <br>The game story also has some connection to real life, the amount of men who leave their wives after they become deathly ill is saddening

  The most impressive thing to me about this adaptation is that Silent Hill 2 only has six characters, and Gans has managed to completely misinterpret all of them and down right character assassinate three of them. You should check out Silent Hill Restless Dreams, it&apos;s a fan edit of the first movie, and it&apos;s exquisitely done. Far more game accurate and wayyyy more watchable in my opinion.

  There was an interview Christophe Gans gave recently about how he viewed Silent Hill 2 as a piece of Romanticism and it was right there I knew he fundamentally misunderstood why the game&apos;s story is so good
