  What I find really shocking about your videos from Germany is that this clearly isn’t just a Dortmund problem anymore. I was born and raised in Berlin myself, so I know that many of these issues are not something you only see in one particular city. When you watch your videos from Berlin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Essen and now Dortmund, you start to see the same pattern again and again.<br><br>You basically just walk through the streets with a camera and show things that seem to have become normal in parts of Germany: open drug scenes, neglected public spaces, crime, people saying they no longer feel safe in certain areas, and situations where you seriously have to wonder why this has been allowed to continue for years.<br><br>And that’s the part I find so absurd: if an ordinary citizen makes a €30 mistake on their tax return, misses a deadline or fails to pay something correctly, the German state suddenly works with incredible precision. Letters arrive, deadlines are set, fines follow and consequences come quickly.<br><br>But when entire streets and public spaces visibly deteriorate, drugs are openly sold and the same problems continue for years, that same level of determination suddenly seems to disappear.<br><br>That’s what I find most disturbing about your videos. It’s not that Dortmund has a problem. It’s that you can travel from one German city to another and keep finding similar situations.<br><br>As someone who was born and raised in Berlin, it’s especially frustrating to watch, because I know how great these cities can be and how much potential they have.<br><br>Thank you for not just filming the beautiful tourist side of Germany. You actually go into these areas, talk to the people who live there and show what is happening on the streets without sugar-coating it.<br><br>Germany should seriously pay attention to these videos.

  I was born in Dortmund—and seeing my hometown like this breaks my heart. <br>Now I live in another, much smaller city—but the situation is much the same. This is how we all become uprooted....This country is lost
