  I got my switch October 2019. I was drunk, I was bored, I thought it would be good for my new job at the time via travel. I was pretty unemployable at the time. Had just been allowed to see my kids again but was an awful father lol. Never used it. It had seen a hospital, and central booking locker in its short life. December 2 2019 I got sober. Came home from last rehab Jan 2 2020. When the world shut down I said “I need a hobby”. I was 31. I bought Witcher 3 and started playing Mario kart. Saved my life! Today I am 36. I am still sober. Gaming is my favorite hobby. I have primary custody of those kids today and they love gaming too. I got a few handhelds these days, laptop, Xbox, meta lmao but I love my switch. So thankful for it. Can’t wait for switch 2.

  love hearing people in our age group talk about this because having a console not only last this long, but line up perfectly with the most important developmental years of our lives is crazy. pretty unique experience we had and i know it definitely affected who i am as a person

  Growing up in a low income household, my childhood gaming history was mainly on the Nintendo handhelds and secondhand computers. The Switch came out shortly after I started my first full time job, so it was my first home console which I bought with my own money. It reignited my love of gaming and particularly physical games, and today I have over 450 physical Switch games in my collection which I hope to play through for many years to come. What an amazing system - I don&apos;t think I&apos;ll ever love another in the same way again.

  I had just started high school and was 16 when the Switch came out.<br><br>I am now 24 with my own apartment and job and have a Switch 2 preordered. To say this console shaped my later years would be an understatement.
