ASMR - Whisper-Rambling Praise for "Sleep Like Death" by Kalynn Bayron

This spoiler-free video covers the aspects about "Sleep Like Death" by Kalynn Bayron that I loved in an informal, rambling way. Imagine if I'm a friend you're letting talk on and on about a book they recently enjoyed reading. I'll talk about the book in a "spoiler-free" way, which means that I'll talk vaguely when mentioning my feelings about plot points not revealed in the blurb or marketing of the book. [That is, unless I feel like there is an important draw to the story beyond what's mentioned in the blurb/marketing. An example of this would be revealing that a character becomes disabled in the book, so the book contains disabled representation that wasn't mentioned at the beginning of the story. But if this happens close to the end of the book, I'll likely be vague about mentioning the disability representation.] — ABOUT THE BOOK "Sleep Like Death" by Kalynn Bayron is a young adult fantasy Snow White retelling with a romance subplot. As princess of Queens Bridge, Eve has trained her whole life to take on a notorious, cruel monster known as the Knight. Although the Knight is known for granting wishes to many people, he twists the price of each one into something hurtful. As Eve’s seventeenth birthday approaches, she learns that her magical abilities have more to do with the Knight than she thought. Although the Knight is powerful, Eve is determined to take him on before he ruins her life. Representation notes: Eve is a Black, queer girl. The cast is primarily composed of Black people, with many queer people as well (including her mothers and hunting mentor figure).
