My dad was killed on active duty in navy 23 days before I was born but he was a cowboy I grew up thinking about my dad every time I heard this song and I knew all the words at a very young age it was my mom's ringtone for me on her phone till she died. My mom and I saw Waylon and Jessi in concert when I was in high school. And my wife and I saw Willie in concert afew years ago mom's other ringtone was blue eyes crying in the rain for regular calls and mine when mom called me was seven Spanish angels

My dad used used to sing this when I was a kid. This song cracks me up. I’m a girl. And my dad can’t sing. 😅😅😅
