While a shame he didn’t live, thematically it works. Bryan was just a guy screwed over by umbrella’s screw up. Yeah sure Ethan was also a guy that survived all that, but technically he also died. Plus, as another commenter pointed out, Bryan would’ve died even if they administered the cure. Either from him being too much infected than man, or from it just killing hik outright. Hell the scientists would’ve left him either way. Worst of it is even if by some miracle he was saved, you really think unbrella would let some random guy with knowledge of what happened go? Hell no they wouldn’t they’d find him and make him disappear, or at the least monitor him for his entire life ensuring he doesn’t do anything to try and expose them(not like he could anyway.)

I was hoping the neutralizing base would lead to a hilarious circumstance where Brian becomes completely immune to the virus and is forced to make dangerous deliveries in order to help stop the virus

I’ve seen the movie three times now and all of the continuous motifs and themes about fatherhood, children, life, and embracing change are everywhere. I mean sure, the maternity ward sequence was the most explicit but the lines about him liking kids, being bit by the girl, him staring at the car seat, the big dude in the sewer literally birthing monster rats. The allegories are everywhere.
