  30 seconds in any gun fight is a long time.  I've been shot at 12 rounds actual and it was maybe 4 seconds. 30 seconds is forever.

  I'd imagine that in a close quarters gunfight with several people shooting at each other, 30 seconds is an eternity. 😏

  If you watch videos of modern police shootings you can routinely see the cop fire 18-20 rounds and either not hit the bad guy or just wound him once. Things haven’t changed since the old West except the guns hold more rounds.

  Actually you were wrong about Colt Revolvers making only one click. AS you pull the hammer back it clicks at 1/4 cocked which is the safety<br> (you were wrong about that too, there is a safety if you choose to load 6 you put the &nbsp;hammer at 1/4 cocked so the hammer wasn&apos;t down a loaded cylinder)<br>Only loading 5 was a common practice. <br>It clicks again at 1/2 cocked. This allows rotate the cylinder for loading and unloading. Next it &nbsp;clicks for a 3rd time at full cocked. &nbsp;Trigger pull on Colt SSA is about 3 pounds which isn&apos;t a heavy pull.

  A couple things to keep in mind if you hear things like the murder rate in frontier towns doubled in one year or another or that murder rates higher than a modern city: murder rates are a function of population, usually stated in murders per hundred or murders per thousand. The small populations in frontier towns would require such statistics to be adjusted for modern populations to be at all useful. Secondly, if you had three killings last year and four this year, that&apos;s a 33% increase, but only one additional murder. An excellent book about the real west is, The Not So Wild Wild Wild West.
