Employers are always saying “we are family”, but they will throw you under the bus to serve themselves.

Happened to me when I was 52. Did everything, taught everyone, but promotion went to a kid with shiny shoes. I quit the hero act too. Best move ever.

Sometimes the bravest thing isn’t fighting harder—it’s letting things fall apart so others see the truth.

Kinda surprised they didn’t try the “you’re too valuable at your current position to move” line. It’s a classic for people who do more than what’s strictly “their job”.

Funny how companies wont premote someone because they are to important for a postion yet wont make the wage reflect just how important they are

This is exactly why I no longer go the "extra mile" and definitely refuse to give my personal cellphone number to certain people.

Glad he’s realizing that corporations don’t care about you; do what you have to do and no more. They will demote you, pass you over for promotions and fire you in a heartbeat after years of loyal service. Be loyal to yourself!

    Been there...
I gave my all...
After that, I gave an honest 8 HOURS a day, and went home.

My dad was Navy too. Same mindset as Preston. Fix it right, fix it early. His civilian jobs never appreciated him either until he left.

My best friend used to say when you are the "mules" on the floor, you don't expect to advance and that was so true!

Never trust an employer, they're never worthy.

Half of y’all blaming Bradford, but Titan’s culture let this happen. If your system relies on one guy doing unpaid hero work, that’s a broken system.
