There have been many plays like this in the past that all have been ruled a fumble. Inconsistency is the actual problem.

Has there been a change in rule? Its always been whether the arm has a forward motion. Now it includes the entire wind up and intention to throw? What in the actual hell???

Guess the Seahawks should have never been awarded that 2 point conversion last year since we can’t be sure Darnold INTENDED to throw it backwards.

If the ball does not go forward it is, should be, and has always been a fumble. This is ridiculous.

If Aaron Donald or Miles Garrett, instead of Chase Young, had forced that "incomplete" pass, there's not a planet in the solar system where the refs would've dared to disallow the touchdown!!

Yes Rich, if with our own two eyes we saw the clock expire before a defender contacted the ball, and the rule says otherwise, we should throw out the rule.

The problem with this is that it has never been brought up in a fumble review before. It’s always been a question of if the arm was going forward, not if he intended it to go forward. Even if this was officiated correctly according to the rule, there are so many previous instances that then should have been incomplete instead of a fumble. Call it consistently and stop screwing my saints.

As a Lions fan, I've had to endure getting hosed by The Calvin Johnson rule along with a host of other BS calls. <br>The "incomplete forward pass" call wasn't the right call, but I'll take it.
