The man makes the dialogue sound like beautiful music.

I saw this on the BBC, I think around Christmas, 1999? I was completely unaware of the character and the play so had no expectations - I watched because I admired O'Toole as an actor. What an absolute blast it was! I laughed so much and regretted I didn't record the show at the time and have never seen it again! Brilliant performance from the master.

Saw it on stage in London. Hadn't ever heard of Jeff Bernard, but it had Peter O'Toole, so we went. Made me a lifetime fan. I am now the right age for the role. If I win the lottery, I will be producing this play with myself in the lead.

More than brilliant and superb! Impossible to add any further adjective in order to praise Sir O'Toole's stage skills. Thank You for the upload. This performance is pure learning!

I went to watch this in 1999. I’d heard of it and JB but it was Peter O’Toole who was the main attraction and he was mesmerizing. 100% professional and impeccable timing and delivery yet also loads of obvious ad libs also! It was so funny and yet tragic also.
