  Bu belgeselin tek farkı, kendisini izletmiyor, resmen oraya götürüp insana o anları yaşatıyor. <br>Resmen vuruldum yaralandım, acı çektim, ceset kokusu aldım, sineklerle uğraştım, ailemi özledim süre boyunca..<br>Bunlar nasıl insan, bu nasıl bir inanmışlık, bu ne azim ne dayanıklılık..<br>Çok acı.. Gerçekten çok acı...

  My wifes great uncle died in Gallipoli and his grave is at Skew Bridge Cemetery in Gallipoli. We visited his grave for the first time two years ago.

  After the Turkish War of Independence and the establishment of the Republic, the governor of Canakkale at the time prepared a speech for the commemoration and ceremonies for the ANZAC soldiers who were lost and sent it to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for approval. Naturally, it was a speech full of enthusiasm for a successful defense of the homeland and the ministry approved the text of this speech, then this text was also conveyed to Ataturk and later Ataturk stated that such a speech was not appropriate to commemorate these dramatic losses even if they were enemies in a war, and then he wrote the famous text of that speech, which won the admiration of not only the ANZACs but the entire world, and conveyed it to the relevant parties. &quot;Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives ... You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours ... You, the mothers who sent their sons from faraway countries, wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well.&quot;

  Awesome documentary. As a Kiwi I feel so many different emotions watching this . Despite its graphic nature, i think this documentary should be part of the Secondary School syllabus, for all NZ/Australians &amp; maybe others . My best mate and I were lucky enough to have meet some of the &apos;old diggers&apos; at Gallipoli (Çanakkale) on Anzac Day , back in the early 90&apos;s. Things were less regimented back then, &nbsp;so we arrived the day before the ceremony , wandered around the hills on our own all day, then someone lite a fire on the beach that night, (which a group of us gathered around) . We made a toast to the fallen (both sides) and listened to a young Australian Historian tell us stories about the campaign. &nbsp;We then slept the night under the stars, &nbsp;just as these guys would have many decades before. Even in summer &amp; in a modern sleeping bag, it was a cold night.

  As a Turk, I can say this. Many of us lost a great deal in the Battle of Canakkale, which was a tragedy that should never have happened. My grandfather&apos;s father also sacrificed his life for his country in that war. This is more of an honor and a source of pride for us than a loss. The relatives of soldiers coming from other countries were forced to experience the same pain and loss. I hope that the fact that global powers arranged and chose our children as victims has taught a lesson to all people living today. War only kills and takes humanity backwards. Why can we humans be so savage when we can share the beauties of the world in peace and prosperity? Live in friendship and happiness, otherwise the tears of mothers will never dry up. Let us all hold hands for world peace and build a happy world. As Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK said, let each of us make the principle of &quot;Peace at home, peace in the world&quot; a principle in our hearts. Let wars and tears end now...

  My mother still hated Churchill right up to her death decades later. She refused watch TV news coverage of his funeral. That War Monger she used to say often when hearing his name. &nbsp;Our neighbour on the farm next door in New Zealand could not stand the smell of &nbsp;even a decaying dead rabbit as it took him right back to his days in this battle.. we were careful to find and bury any animal before it could &nbsp;decay as he would become visibly upset if he smelt it … even 50 years later

  if Turkiye were to lost the war im sure west wouldnt let Turks to visit their fallen ancestors graves let alone give the fallen Turkish soldiers a grave, Ataturk sure was a merciful man to be this understanding and kind to the west
