  I’m still awake because I don’t want the day to end. It’s been a very unremarkable day, but it’s one I won’t ever have again. I know I’ll most likely get another one tomorrow, and that resting now will make it better, but I want to savor this one a little longer.

  I woke up from a dream where I got to talk to a friend that&apos;s no longer in my life. I grieved a little, had something to eat, scrolled a bit, and now I&apos;m here. It&apos;ll be alright.

  I&apos;m awake because I want to be. It&apos;s summer break, I have no school and I&apos;ll be attending higher education in the next month. I&apos;m really nostalgic about the past school years, especially since me and my friends whom I&apos;ve been with for years are diverging paths. I&apos;m scared of what the future will hold, but the thing I&apos;m most scared of is that there won&apos;t even be a future, not with the spike of violence these past few months and wars and the way media dilutes the reality of what people are going through to make it easier to consume. I&apos;m just trying to savor every last second I have of summer break and of peace and quiet before I&apos;m inevitably swarmed by work.

  I’m awake because I can’t stop thinking about how much work I have due, and the procrastination that I can’t seem to control no matter what I do. It’s like living with a co-pilot telling you to do things later and that things will be fine only to be woken up into the reality that it’s not okay. But I’m not angry at myself it’s just a part of me that I need to control better. These videos help me find solace during nights like these where my mind is racing.

  I’m awake because my partner and I are going through new baby clothes our friends donated to us. After an incredibly unforgiving week filled with stress, doubt, and sadness… being reminded of the baby girl I’m soon going to hold makes the world feel a little more hopeful.
