  The frustrating part isn’t that habitable planets might be rare. It’s that even if one is practically next door by cosmic standards, ‘next door’ could still mean thousands of years of travel. The universe has a brutal sense of distance

  If I could travel to one place it’s Trappist 1 system. So intriguing. Space is amazing we don’t live long enough to experience much and can’t go far. By far the saddest aspect of life to me.

  What always gets me is that finding a potentially habitable planet might actually be the easy part. The real problem is the distance. A world could be perfect for us and still be so far away that reaching it would take generations. Space really changes the meaning of the word "far".

  We can’t sit in a car for 8 hours with other people. Why do people think they will happily rocket through the galaxy for their entire life with their great great kids and other families in a relatively small vehicle.

  The universe really has a cruel sense of scale. A planet can be our cosmic “neighbor” and still be impossibly far away with the technology we have 😅

  We're not going anywhere new.  And as we're no more than a tiny dot of light, if that, in a galactic backwater, no one's coming to pay a call on us.  Start getting along with the people you hate.
