අපේ ක්‍රිකට් වැටුණේ කවුරු නිසාද? | Crick Analysis | Marvan Atapattu|Episode 06

In this episode of Crick Analysis, former captain Marvan Atapattu delivers a scathing critique of the state of Sri Lankan cricket, focusing on the lack of accountability, poor management, and the team's inability to learn from a decade of poor results. Key Points of Discussion The "Toss" Decision: Atapattu maintains that playing at the Premadasa Stadium requires a strategic approach—typically batting first to gain an early advantage. He criticizes the team’s failure to read the match conditions and their repeated errors in strategy [00:00], [02:47]. Selection Failures and Mismanagement: He highlights the absurdity of including an unfit Kusal Mendis (who reportedly had a hamstring issue) as an opening batsman and wicket-keeper in a high-stakes match. He asks, "Who is accountable?"—the coach, the captain, the selection committee, or the physio? [05:04], [05:31]. Political & Social Media Pressure: Atapattu addresses the team's tendency to blame external factors like social media or political interference. He insists that these are not the root causes of their failure. The administration is using these as excuses to cover up their own inefficiencies [00:14], [06:39]. Systemic Failure: He points out that for the last 10 years, Sri Lanka has failed to reach a semi-final in major world tournaments and has had to play "qualifying rounds" just to enter them. He argues that this pattern is sustainable only if the administration keeps hiding behind "temporary fixes" after every series loss [07:36], [08:15]. Accountability: Atapattu stresses that the cricket board management should be held accountable. He notes that while players have roles to perform, the management has been stagnant and unsuccessful for over a decade [21:57], [22:48]. #news1st #MarvanAtapattu #srilankacricket #t20worldcup #lka 👉 Facebook Channel: https://m.me/j/AbaQ5X0ZEJrNW3q2/ 👉 Whatsapp Channel එකට එකතු වෙන්න https://news1st.lk/WhatsappChannel 👉 Subscribe us: newsfirstsrilanka 👉 JOIN US 📌 Whatsapp - https://news1st.lk/whatsappg9 📌 Telegram - https://news1st.lk/Telegram 📌 Viber - https://news1st.lk/viber 👉 FOLLOW US 📌Instagram - https://news1st.lk/instagram 📌Youtube - https://news1st.lk/youtube 📌Twitter - https://news1st.lk/twitter 📌Tiktok - https://news1st.lk/tiktok 📌Facebook - https://news1st.lk/facebook Newsfirst.lk is a leading news website in Sri Lanka that provides a wide range of news and information on current events, politics, sports, weather, exams, business, entertainment, and world news.
