  Turns out beating the best players in the world on a consistent basis is really really hard. Magnus made it look easy for awhile but he was a once in a generation talent.

  I only got into chess this year, but Fabi tying magnus 6-6 in the world championship is actually an insane result.

  i have always supported fabi and i will continue to do so but i have to say that  it is hard to be fabiano caruana fan sometimes

  I'll always root for Fabi in every tournament he plays. It's just heartbreaking that he keeps falling short in the crucial moments.

  Fabi really is destined for greatness but he always fails to take advantage of his chances. Truly tragic.

  He is what he is. In sport, not all great players win the world championship. Being the 2nd greatest player of his generation is an incredible accomplishment. A great role model & respected by all. He will be a feared player for years to come. A legend.

  I've always loved Fabiano he is a constant gentleman and great ambassador for the game. His skill just unfortunately peaked at the same time as Magnus same can be said for Hikaru as well. Were Hikaru was always a little spicy and bombastic Fabi was always a cool and soft spoken if it wasn't for Magnus literally could of had a great rivalry of styles demeanor and play.  I hope he finds his form once more and can get a title before he rides off into history.

  I don't understand why you say he's fallen short of greatness. He's done something practically no one on the planet has done. For me that makes him great.

  What i love about Fabi is even with all he has done he's still active playing in tournaments. He's nice and a great ambassador of the game

  He may never gain the title, but Fabi will absolutely go down as one of the top players of his generation and has done so with class.  He's had some amazing highs...... and as much as I'd love to see him get there, it feels as though it just might not be his destiny.

  i think fabi is cursed of the greatness, he is a legend of the chess and ofc one of the best player to touch the game ever but most of the time he falls shorts in the best moments recent eg is freestyle championship match agt magnus he was winning and had the mate on the board he himself said that he can't explain how he messed that postion and eventually lost to magnus had he have won  that game he would have been the fresstyle champion and that to by defeating magnus and he was just moments away from that and this has happened many times but with all this he is great and better than everyone except magnus
