47 mins into this video and we get the most honest description of real work magic that I have ever heard. Creating emotions through cardboard and/or words. I try to get my kids to understand that the emotions they are feeling are being created externally. It makes you wonder why writing words is called SPELLING.

2 episodes ago I was just thinking I need to sit down and build up a better template for brainstorming these games. Thank you Leo this will be an excellent resource.

01:05:44 Idk about this. It goes against all research on buying patterns for toys. You don’t market to parents or grandparents hoping they see it on the shelf and decide to buy it. You market it to the kids so they scream how bad they want it until the adult folds. Market to your audience whether they are the buyer or not.

This is such a good discussion. Leo's sheet would be a great tool with the Art of Game Design deck of Lenses. There are some cards that are a little video game-centric but can easily be reworked to apply to tabletop games.

If you put 100 players into the room for a 2 player game. Then, pass out 50 copies of the game. You don't say a word the whole time. You only listen. You teach, explain, and answer the questions of 5 referees, before the players show up. These referees answer player's questions not you. What you do is listen, and take notes on your observations. You thank all the participants at the end of the play test. You should come away knowing a great deal about what you got right, and what you got wrong.

Love this game. It does take a while to learn the terms for card movement.

Great content, thank you! Is it easy or challenging to make the interviewer and interviewee appear on a split screen? Might help reinforce the active dialog aspect that's so compelling.
