  There’s a reason why these places are empty and empty. The San Luis Valley is gorgeous, but there’s no water literally no water. You get into West Virginia massive pollution from coal mines and other industrialization. So if you really love one of these places, do your homework thoroughly.

  Yeah well, the parts about Colorado seem to leave out the stranglehold the state maintains of water. &nbsp;You’re not allowed to harvest rainwater. &nbsp;You’re not allowed to tap a spring. &nbsp;You’re not even allowed to atmosphere harvest as far as I understand it.<br><br>Sorry. &nbsp;Not interested.

  I would stay out of WV. Yes it&apos;s beautiful up there but there are some crooked members of law enforcement up there and outsiders aren&apos;t really welcome.

  In Virginia, the ocean isn&apos;t rising, the land and beaches are being eroded. The ocean levels aren&apos;t rising.

  There’s a reason why they call the music “the blues” because this area will give you the blues .I drive thru this area I don’t even slow the truck down at all ,it’s very depressing how people live here that do stay there.

  Access to good health care - especially emergency care precludes most older retirees from looking at these places for full time please to live and prosper.

  &quot;Not small towns in the middle of nowhere. Cities.&quot; Continues with a video about small towns in the middle of nowhere. I&apos;ve been to Tangier Island myself. It is absolutely charming. The watermen speak a unique local dialect from the 17th century, they are happy, and it really is sinking into the bay, glub glub.

  We lived around Parkersburg in 1952 when we first emigrated legally from Liege, Belgium. We were DP’s after WWII. There wasn’t uch there then, we got the rest of pur family out of there 2 years later. We drove to Hammond, IN and another distant relative helped us. We lived there till 1955 and then to Chicago. Life got better, it was hard, my folks worked hard. We visited Parkersburg in the last 70’s and in the mid 80’s. Things never changed there, it was always a poor place, very few good paying jobs.

  The Mississippi Delta... I have no words for the crime and poverty in that place. Probably the worst place in America.
