  Remember that in Vanilla WoW having only blue items (rare) even as a level 60 player wasn't that common initially, epics were really rare and legendaries were essentially unheard of.

  Original Shadowmourne questline required 1000 souls.  It took several clears to get past that phase.

  I never understood just how cool vanilla WoW legendaries were until I got thunderfury in 2019 classic.<br>That...Felt insanely cool. I just wound running dungeons for a while, being able to do AOE threat like nobody&apos;s business all while fury/prot specced without needing to go arms, and it was glorious. I got it 2nd on the realm, very closely after another guild, and it was a huge event, which felt amazing.<br>Great stuff. Fantastic stuff. I 100% get it.

  on the very first PTR, testing av if i recall, I seen the 1 of 1 talisman of the binding shard in person in org. Still a core memory nearly 20 years later.

  There are some drops you never forget. A long time ago... either late Wrath or early Cata, can&apos;t remember exactly when it happened, I took a lower level random that I met near the entrance in with me for my weekly Molten Core reput grind. I decided to let the random have all the loot and put it on free for all and didn&apos;t bother looting anything myself as I was only there for the rep points. Low and behold, he managed to pick up both the left and right pieces for Thunderfury in that run. I don&apos;t want to try to calculate the drop chance of that. It was only about a month later I was running Black Temple for reputation, and was again with a lower level random warrior I&apos;d met in the area that day, and history repeated itself - both the main hand and off-hand warglaives dropped at the same time. This time I was on a toon that couldn&apos;t use them, so the warrior got them both. The only other legendary I&apos;ve ever seen drop was the stars fury bow which my hunter picked up after far too many runs to be sane trying to grind for some leatherworking recipes about 12 years later. I still don&apos;t have any those recipes. RNG really hates me sometimes.
