This is a random "I really like Stewart Lee" comment that doesn't involve me quoting something from his back catalogue.

Stewart Lee hasn't let himself go. Looking quite well, actually.

I'm a therapist. The description of the disconnected physical care-only babyhood is heartbreaking. People have NO idea how traumatic this always is and the range and depth of the fallout in later life. The baby makes a lot of 'decisions' about how the World is based on experience and basic instinctual responses. This is very very serious stuff.

I asked my wife whether she liked Stewart Lee and she said she did, so I said ‘Well I do too then’

Damn the thought of not knowing what happened to you during the most vulnerable years of your life must be scary. I never even thought of that when thinking about people in care. I was also reading recently that the proportions of people in care who end up in prison is insanely high. We really all need to start being nicer to each other.

Four minutes in and we’ve had references to Swell Maps, Napalm Death and Throbbing Gristle. Never change, Stu.

"Everything hangs by threads. We're so lucky. There's so much random chance and luck in how we arrive where we are." Hear, hear, this kind of thing isn't talked about enough. (Random chance and luck has let itself ... actually, he looks radiant)

My mother tried to put me up for adoption but changed her mind, she says, when she looked at my crying blue eyes. She knew then that even as a single mother...she would do her best for me.

28 years old I was.

Stuarts discription of the PTSD caused by being adopted in the 60's exactly discribes me - but im not adopted and was born in the 70's .
