We made hard tack in ROTC.

Dylan's right: The taste is fine, if incredibly bland. Problem is it's like got the durabiliy of old stones.

Hard Tack or Ships Biscuits are supposed to be dunked in warm tea or grog. At least that's how they were consumed by British sailors during the age of sail.

What really gets me about the recipes like that Baked Bean Pizza is that they are ALMOST okay, and then they do something that completely ruins it.
Up to the point where they ask for a whole can of baked beans, it's a passable quick pizza—you're in the mood for a pizza but don't have the time to make a proper dough and don't want to order takeout, so you make that.
But no, they couldn't stop at an unenthusiastic quick pizza. They just HAD TO throw a whole can of baked beans onto it, and then have the gall to ask for anchovies...

15:50 Fun fact: because coal miners tended to have greatly diminished sense of smell and taste due to all the dust and noxious fumes in a coal mine, their wives used to make these very strongly flavored dishes for them.
They would use a lot of pungent spices, pepper mint extract, strong bitter coffee, etc. so that their husbands could taste something. It was a labor of love and affection for people risking their lives to provide for their loved ones.

"No one knows your children better than you!"

Considering what I've seen of some shitty parents in public, I really do wonder about that.

Some of these people don't know their asses from a hole in the ground.

9:28 Catsup and Ketchup are both just different ways to spell the same word. "Ketchup" became the 'official' spelling simply because big brands started using it
