They missed a great opportunity by not doing a movie where the Beverly Hills cops had to go to Detroit. Seeing their straight laced mentality juxtaposed against the streets of Detroit would have been comedic gold.

With today's numbers, the budget would have been $48 mil, and the box office would have been just over $1 billion. The original budget was $15 mil, and the box office was $316 mil in 1984. Mind-blowing!

WIthout a doubt it was IMPOSSIBLE to get through the 80s without having seen this movie. It was beyond quotable and was woven into the lexicon.
