Ox Cart! Beautifully and elegantly played on the tuba! I loved it. My only objection is, was it oxy enough? Maybe, maybe not? But then, it is a song. Who am I to say? Well played. Don't get me started on the two Jews.
There's awesomeness residing in Frankfurt.

The transition from Baba Yaga to the Great Gates of Kiev always sends shivers down my spine. One of the greatest ever written. Perfecto!

This is what playing your A-game means. Every member of the orchestra performing their hearts out to give the finest performance possible.

Fun fact: Maurice Ravel worked on his famous orchestration of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition in the charming Normandy village of Lyons-la-Forêt. Seeking peace and inspiration, the composer stayed at "Le Fresne," an 18th-century manor on Rue d’Enfer, where he was hosted by his "war godmother," Madame Dreyfus. It was there that he completed Le Tombeau de Couperin in 1917 and later orchestrated the Pictures in 1922.
Ravel deeply loved Lyons and took long walks in the nearby forest, the largest beech grove in France, which fueled his imagination and helped him heal after the Great War. The twin houses (one where he slept and another where he worked) still stand today. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful village!

baba yaga and the gate of Kiev are fabulous of course but the huge ox cart coming by... You can SEE it. This music has been part of my life as far back as I can remember. I am so grateful to my Dad for giving my sisters and me the love of music. It filled our house and became part of my soul.
