  Great video and glad you got the result you were after. &nbsp;Your reaction at Stealth said it all.<br><br>I can totally relate with this issue; the antisocial factor, noise fatigue and discomfort, embarrassment for the passengers and the irritation of forced changes to the natural driving style (rev avoidance).<br><br>I have a custom stainless Powerflow three silencer system on my Audi 90. &nbsp;It&apos;s been on there for 20+ years! &nbsp;Has always had terrible resonance at 2-2.5k rpm under the lightest engine load. &nbsp;It&apos;s a common problem introduced with a free flowing, straight through exhaust. &nbsp;Audi&apos;s original centre box would have been designed to target this resonance with chambers inside the silencer, no doubt. &nbsp;The consequence with my system is I avoid the 2-2.5k rev range where possible. &nbsp;It quietens down above 2.5k rpm, mercifully, but it&apos;s present at 40-55mph in top gear. &nbsp;A steady 70mph is quieter than 50mph!<br><br>I&apos;ve used my phone with a spectrum analyser app to capture the waveform. &nbsp;The sound wave has a visible peak (higher decibels) at around 90Hz. &nbsp;A low frequency which is the bassy drone. &nbsp;I&apos;ve made some calculations to design my own Helmholtz resonator to cancel (attentuate) the soundwave at this frequency. &nbsp;Will try it out one day! &nbsp;Need to find someone willing to amend / weld my exhaust. &nbsp;Not got much to lose modifying the old system, I don&apos;t have spare cash at the moment and off-the-shelf aftermarket options for my car basically don&apos;t exist. &nbsp;I like keeping my car OEM but I&apos;m not sure I&apos;d want to go back to standard on the exhaust. &nbsp;It&apos;s finding a happy compromise... and I love to hear the inline five noise when occasionally giving it the beans. &nbsp;Sorry for waffling... or rather droning on ☺️

  I fitted a Magnaflow muffler to my WRX holy cow it droned and sounded like a machine gun at 60mph. A Remus muffler gave great sound and no drone. My MkV gti is still stock. Not messing with it.

  Perfect. &nbsp;So obnoxious driving the freeway surrounded by loud exhaust noise. &nbsp;Or being in my house and hearing some loud exhaust from a car a mile distant. &nbsp;The guys driving these cars think they are cool, but it just screams &quot;Chump Car&quot;. &nbsp;Class and power are cool, like your Milltek exhaust. &nbsp;Well done.

  A very nostalgic sound! Mk2 GTi’s had a unique bassy sound. My only suggestion would be to remove the snorkel &amp; oval plate from the airbox to give it some mild induction note.<br>Loved my 8v. It ended up being 155hp/153lbs.ft on Stealths rollers

  A stock VAG 3 silencer system on an 8 valve is very very quiet compared to any other system ive tried to be honest.<br>Only problem you get with a proper 8v VAG system is the lack of air flow. Which really shows on a 16v lump.<br>Id go for a 16 valve system everytime now on any 8 valve, from the downpipe onwards of course.

  Great channel, thank you for the content. I have had my Mk1 GTi since 1987 and it is currently being restored. Before finding the channel I have bought Koni Adjustables, Eibach springs, Milltek Classic exhaust and a Blaupunkt Bremen!!!! Fantastic to see all these items installed &amp; reviewed on the MK2. Please keep the MK2 content coming.👍👍

  Nice review thank you 🙂<br><br>I think the Supersprint twin pipe for the 8 valve is superb sounding and can handle a 2 box system without the middle baffle over the beam no problems. Plus the old MOT centre amazed how quiet it was.<br>Only becomes deep booming sounding when you floor the throttle.<br>I did have the whole system at one stage.<br>I changed the front supersprint silencer for a straight pipe and had a baffle fitted inside. Worked better than the Supersprint and had more flow for sure.<br>The stock system really does restrict the flow.<br><br>I think the Milltek has more of a slight rasp on exit which is causing the blown exhaust type of sound on throttle.<br><br>My ABF with the 8 valve Supersprint backbox, plus 2.5&quot; open centre pipe and home made front pipe with added baffle<br><br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJmMzmgIgRQ">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJmMzmgIgRQ</a><br><br>Supersprint all the way tho 🙂

  great video, i got you, i even have the same problem with a really noise charakter, maybe a i´m going with the same exhaust as you in the future
