deft after the game. “for 10 years I have gone to bed every night and dreamed of winning worlds…. I wanted to get the interview after the winning the last game and tell everyone that I am the best player in the world. When I got on stage today, I realized, being the best player didn’t matter at all. All that mattered was being the better team, and today we were the best team in the world.”

Fucking. Legendary. Quote.

This was without a doubt the most incredible finale I've ever seen. So proud of both teams.

Damn, sucks seeing how hard Keria took it. You feel happy for those who win but the absolute void that the runners up feel is crushing.

You can steal as many barons you want from them. You can have your inhibitor respawn when your Nexus is being burned to nearly 0 hp by them. You can be up 2-1 or 2-0 against them. It won't matter. Even after 9 years of trying and failure, Deft never broke. Even after half a dozen steals, Pyosik kept trying. Even after a heartbreaking loss at last year's finals, Beryl pushed forward. Even when facing the juggernauts of EDG, GEN and T1, Kingen and Zeka held their ground and proved themselves. DRX's mental fortitude was as unbreakable as the core of a neutron star. Well played, absolute banger of a series.

Came here after the 2023 Worlds anthem. The feelings during these games were so palpable. As always, Riot's animation and music departments hit it out of the park.

Deft has now won Worlds, MSI, LCK x2, and LPL x2. Basically the 4 most valuable tournaments in the game. What a fucking legend
