The six second rule was replaced in the new season 2025-2026 though. Now referees have the 8 second rule, where they actually count down from 8, and show with their fingers the last five seconds. The penalty for exceeding 8 seconds is a corner kick

In our league, the referee warns the captain at the toss about the players jewellery. If a player has jewellery on, they are given a yellow card and sent to the sin bin.

I think the rule for Jewellery was introduced because of a Swiss league player losing part of his finger when his wedding ring got caught.

In a match between Flamengo and Criciúma in the Brazilian Série A in 2024, a Criciúma player kicked a ball that Flamengo fans had thrown onto the field. The ball that the player kicked hit the ball that the Flamengo player was controlling inside the penalty area, causing the referee to award a penalty. Flamengo ended up winning 2-1 because of this penalty at the end of the game.

If I remember right, the shirt off rule started from Forlan when he took his shirt off, couldn't get it back and kept playing without. One of the reasons

24:28 leagues usually have a rule, that in such a case, the result at the end of the game or a 3-0 for the team that still had enough players will be the official result. Also the losing team usually automatically gets ranked behinds any team with equal points in such cases, without considering the goal difference. So I don't see that as a real problem.

5:18 the 2016 rule change didn't affect being able to score a goal directly from a kick off. That became possible with a different rule change in 1997, after originally being allowed until a rule change making it an indirect kick in 1875.

The only thing that changed in 2016 was the kick off longer had to go forwards, so a second player wasn't required in the circle to receive the forward kick and then pass it backwards.

The 6 second rule was used a lot when introduced back in 1997 or 1998.
Carles Busquets, father of Barcelona's Sergio, was a goalkeeper in the 90's who was famous for his long pants too. A true character. 😂

The back pass rule wasn't because of the 1990 World Cup in Italy, it was because of the European Championship two years later in Sweden when Denmark the eventual and surprising winners (They only had 10 days to prepare due to the shock removal of Yugoslavia due to War) were deliberately stifling the game with continuous and blatant time wasting passing the ball back to their keeper when they were a goal up.

For the last one: you forgot to mention the mostly theoretical situation that someone would kick a penalty kick into his own goal on the other side of the field.

For the 26:00, the game isn't actually called off, if a team can get a new goal or piece of legally needed equipment as a replacement the game is just delayed, but because teams normally don't have spare goals, unless your playing college, Highschool or for a club team at the home field in the US or in high level games, the game does usually just end there and then. The video gets this correct, its just so funny to me, as I hade this happen when I was refereeing a game for a game that qualified a team for Regionals.

For the Jewelry rule as of 2025/26 it was changed to 'accessories', for what reason, who know. However because of this one change it's now up to the referee to decide what's legal or not.
Because technically a watch isn't jewelry, its a piece of accessorized wear, same with hair clips not jewelry, even if embellished with studs, its an accessory.... so that's why the law changed, for (as a referee & player) the worse, because now literally anything can be seen as a hazard or non-compliant as literally anything worn is an accessory, which means that its not legal to have on.... yes even a small wristband can stop the game even if it is just a friendship bracelet.

This is still the same as of 2026/27 IFAB rules change, which mostly focused on the speed and consistency of the game and penalizing time waisting.
