The fact that Marta actually gave Harlan the correct dose absolutely guts me every time I see it, because Marta had the right instinct AGAIN - if they'd called the ambulance like she said to, he would have been fine. 😩

It’s interesting to try and do this with the first Knives Out because the film convinces you it’s not a murder mystery when it really is

I think the fun thing about the knives out films is that it’s not truly about WHOdunnit but HOW it was done which makes it so much of a breath of air from other fantastic mysteries.

Remember when Harlan was like "oh yeah Ransom couldn't even differentiate between a fake knife and a real one" near the beginning of the movie? That's GREAT foreshadowing hhhh

On the physical copies there are deleted scenes that show Joni has lawsuits for customer's allergic reactions to her products which lead to her stealing from Harlan, and Walt's knee injury isn't from a bike accident but from bad people he owes money too which is why he was pushing for the Netflix deal. There are so many great hidden detail to this movie, my favorite is when we see Marta return through the secret window she carefully steps over the window sill. So we as viewers already know when Blanc finds the mud it could not have been Marta. Also Richard, Linda, and Ransom all give different countries for where Marta's family is from.

Harlan killed himself by slitting his own throat. Ransom expected Marta to give Harlan the lethal dose after he switched the medicine, but Marta didn't cause like Blanc said, she is a good nurse. Being underestimated is something Marta experiences from the whole family, but especially Ransom. He expected her to give Harlan the lethal dose, he expected her to run away from Fran when she was dying, but she didn't, because she is a good person. Ultimately, her being a good person is what was the biggest reason for Ransom's downfall, as Marta had woven herself so deeply into Harlan's life as a friend that he slit his own throat to save her.

Fun story: When Knives Out first came to theaters, myself and two friends went to see it. During the first part of the movie, my friend turned to me and said, "What if (The end of the movie) actually happened?" we laughed about it and continued watching. Then, we absolutely freaked out over the fact that he had exactly guessed the plot twist as a joke.

Fun fact: if you pay attention at the start of the movie they mention that meg heard the dogs barking. Then later you see that the dogs basically never bark to anyone, the detective even says: " best judge of character is a dog." And then when ransom arrives for the will reading the dogs start attacking him.

Oh btw, Harlan's case is suicide.
In the end, Ransom goes to the slammer because he killed Fran and confessed to it.

Harlan: explicitly shows cutting his own throat
Blanc: notes the blood spatter in Martha's shoes
Welchy: "Hmm must've been a hallucination"
