  I recommend cleaning out your kitchen and bathroom drawers before buying anything for your cruise.  I found an empty prescription bottle and safety pins that I had on my "buy" list.

  I just use a zip lock freezer bag for passports, docs, etc. It is clear, stays shut, fits easily in the safe, and when it’s worn out I just pitch it and grab a new one from my kitchen.

  Bring a couple of sizes of zip lock bags. Great for handling wet items. If you're a late night foodie. Bring a couple of clear shower caps with you to cover that snack plate you bring back from the late buffet.

  If sailing on an older ship, I get battery operated tea lights and put them in the bathroom at night. It is just enough to see what you need to see without turning on the bright light.

  Binder clips to hold the curtain shut at night, dryer sheets to hang in the closet to keep it smelling fresh, post it notes to leave notes for your cabin attendant, small thank you cards for tips on the last day, a shoe box size plastic container for bringing snacks back to the cabin from the buffet and/or specialty coffee from Starbucks with a few pastries, ziplocks for everything, powdered clothes detergent for hand washing clothes, weekly pill caddy to pack small jewelry, and a small sewing kit. You’re welcome. 😁

  I ABSOLUTELY get things from Dollar Tree for ANY trip- cruises or road trips! For example, a 15 pack of Lysol wipes was $6.29 at the airport and I got a pack of 40 for $1.25. Also, same size pack of Haribo gummy bears were $8.79 at the airport- I’m sure this would be a similar price on the ship. And a pack of peanut M&Ms, that was about twice the Dollar Tree size, was a whopping (believe it or not) $14.59!!!  And I was able to find some heavier duty clip magnets at DT, not all DTs carry something specific you might be looking for, so check other locations. We used them to hang up the informational papers they left for us in the room.

  I love dollar tree magnetic  flashlights.  They are flat,  lightweight and work great placed by bed or bathroom door for middle of the night.  They're usually  hanging by the cashier area.   Also,  I found kid-size toothpaste is a better size and price than the travel-size toothpaste.

  Car, plane, ship, or ankle express, I always bring a flashlight, because you just never know. It could be the easy thing that turns out to be just the thing.

  I forgot my tube of toothpaste so I went to one of the shops on board and bought a tube of toothpaste for $9.50. Same thing I could’ve bought at Dollar tree for $1.25.
