Your list is flawed because you are ranking these anime with hindsight. You should be ranking these pilots with zero context.<br><br>For example, Frieren's first episode was extremely boring. It doesn't do a good job of introducing the characters at all. In fact, it introduces you to this cool cast of original heroes, who mostly die or retire in their old age before the first episode even ends. Then she begins a contemplative journey. Almost nothing happens. Which doesn't do justice to the rest of the show.<br><br>On the other hand, there are plenty of anime that have really great pilot episodes but then obscure into a nothing story with forgettable characters. For example: Tokyo Ghoul; Elfen Leid; Sword Art Online; The God of High school; High School of the Dead; etc.
