  As a Texas native. “Low taxes” isn’t even a thing anymore. We may not have a state income tax, however we definitely had one of the HIGHEST property taxes in the country.

  Born and raised in Nashville Tn.<br>Once I went out on my own [early 80s] I found I could barely afford a refrigerator box to live in so I stared moving east into Wilson county to find affordable living. I&apos;ve had to keep moving east to keep the rent affordable. I finally decided to find somewhere to make a final stand right at the Smith county line and bought 14.5 acres in the middle of nowhere. No amenities, no city water and almost no county services. <br>There&apos;s also low property taxes, no traffic, no Karens and almost no crime.I plan to be buried here someday.

  Buffalo NY. This place was deemed the best place to move to (or some such nonsense) a few years ago and my friend immediately put her house on the market. It sold in a week for well over asking price, and she couldn’t get out of there fast enough. All it takes to understand why is the phrase “Lake Effect Snow”.

  I left Texas 20 years ago, the heat and humidity was the easy excuse. Now days I couldn&apos;t imagine paying the tax bill, and unforgiving traffic.

  Colorado regret has more or less hit me and my fiancé. We moved here last August from Virginia and Ohio and I was shocked at how expensive it’s become compared to when me and my family vacationed out here multiple times throughout the early-2000s to 2010s. Yes, the scenery is undeniably beautiful but it’s so unaffordable that we are just going to go back to Virginia in 3 months. If we are going to be paying so much, we’d rather do it being closer to our families.

  Data centers in Texas are taking up a lot of the scarce little potable water we have, and city sprawl demands more water, there are plans to flood some farms using imminent domain to provide more water to the growing cities, needless to say farmers in that land aren&apos;t happy with that solution to the water problem.
