  For the sin about the Asylum's sign having a sub-sign to warn of escaped patients, one should note that real jails and prisons have these signs on the nearby roads as well because; yeah, people escape every now and again. Having the sign doesn't actually indicate a high escape ratio, it indicates that the states learned their lesson from stories in previous generations of criminals escaping through various means and using the fake story of being a hitchhiker to enlist unwitting motorists into helping them get further away from the holding facility.

  On top of the part about the &quot;Hitchhiker&apos;s may be escaping patients part&quot; that&apos;s actually true, prisons and mental institutions literally have those signs, doesn&apos;t mean they have bad security, just chances of that happening

It&apos;d be pretty stupid to vocalize all these things in a situation like that where anyone could be listening. It also makes sense in why he points out obvious things. They&apos;re not general statements, they&apos;re footnotes he&apos;s giving himself.
