  My professional success was the reason why he became verbally abusive after years of marriage. I got a divorce. He was just envious.

  They hate us when we're independent and successful. They hate us when we're dependent on them. They are such silly people. I don't even bother anymore. I've been 4B for a few years now and I don't think I could EVER go back!

  When I started my business, the father of my child withheld his portion of our rent, and our family car so I couldn't get to work. His choices caused my son and I into homelessness. Then he dragged me to court for a custody battle using my homelessness to prove I wasn't  a fit mother. That was 8 years ago. I'm not homeless anymore and I'm a successful  business owner.

  This was a constant theme in my marriage.  My ex husband admitted many times that he was jealous of me because, "You're a better Army officer than I was at your age."  Those were his words--not mine.  He did everything he could to sabotage me in every endeavor.  It was like living in that Sheryl Crow song, "You don't bring me anything but down."  I used to call him "The Hus-Nag" and the "Dream Crusher."  He was furious when I told him that I compete against myself instead of other people, because that's how I stay sane.  I only worry about being the best that I can be, about beating my own personal records, and he said, "You just think you're too good to compete against others."

  I have posted many times before about my sister....she got a promotion and raise which placed her as earning a good bit more than her husband.  He was miserable about it and kept whining to her.  Finally he said "you just fucked your way to the top">  She looked SHOCKED and said "OMG!!!! I didn't realize I WAS SUPPOSED TO FUCK MY WAY TO THE BOTTOM!!!".  Yeah, they divorced not long after.
