I was in a head-on collision with a drunk driver back in October 2025. I suffered a pretty bad concussion and would feel cloudy and loopy for MONTHS. Also, I'd get dizzy spells from small level changes like getting in and out of bed. When I'd finally try to work out and hit the bench press, I'd get really dizzy just after one light set.

I WAS cold plunging before and after the accident. But only at about 55-60f water.

But I finally purchased a chiller and brought my plunge temps down to the zone of 33f-45f. My dizzy spells went away almost overnight! The dizziness would come back every so often. But after a couple of months of cold plunging below 45f temps, my dizziness has pretty much went away.

Here's what AI has said about this when I asked:

"Cold plunging below ~45°F likely helped by rapidly reducing brain inflammation and swelling, which are key drivers of lingering concussion symptoms like dizziness. It also resets and stabilizes your autonomic nervous system, improving blood flow regulation between your brain and inner ear (which controls balance). On top of that, the intense cold can boost neurotransmitters like norepinephrine and dopamine, helping your brain reestablish clearer signaling and reducing that “off” or dizzy feeling."

I've also heard that there's no "proof" of fat burning for habitual plungers. But my face has gotten noticeably and healthily leaner. And I've also lost fat at other places.

Anyway, thanks for the video! Much more informative than even many other pro-plunge videos out there!

3 minutes at 48 degrees has been the sweet spot that I have found. I started doing a 30 minute sauna, followed by a quick rinse in the shower to wash off the sweat. I have a HH ECO, so the sweat is pretty intense after 30 minutes. I then immediately hit the cold plunge and find that 3 minutes is perfect. I get out feeling great. The one benefit that you didn't mention is those 10-15 seconds prior to stepping in where your mind says "don't do it". I find that the discipline exercise of pushing through those seconds and making yourself DO IT is a mental exercise that pays huge dividends.

I live in So. California very close to the beach, so it does get hot but not crazy hot. I have been cold plunging and sauna for over three years and lucky to be able to do it from home. I Have the E4RIC 1horsepower Plunge. My morning routine is cold outdoor shower first, then cold plunge 5 min. 30 seconds at 45 degrees F. I then workout , sauna 25 / 30 minutes and it has changed my life. Every time I go on vacation and miss my routine, I feel how amazing the cold plunge and sauna are to my health. It's not for everyone, but for me, it helps with mental health, inflammation and overall well being. The bummer is in the summer I need to get it to temperature before bed, so in the morning it gets cold in 20-30 minutes. Trust me this will change your life and make you a healthier and stronger person and this is from a 60 year old guy.......

This helped a lot because I’ve always wanted to go in right after a workout but didn’t want to stunt my workout, knowing to just pop in for 30 seconds for some benefits is good than I can just do a longer plunge at a different time

Thanks David. I had been cold plunging at 40 degrees for 5 minutes for about a year. Then I got sick and took some time off. Now I can’t make myself start again! You have convinced me to start 2 minutes at 55 degrees. I’m going to do that now!

Your content is great! I cold plunge at 48-50 degrees normally for 3mins, being in northern Virginia right now it’s 44 and I’m staying in for 90sec-2mins. Love it, mental benefits are amazing

Solid info thank you! I've been plunging for 3 minutes at 45 degrees, now I know anything past 2 is negligible as far as benefits
