  This DAC reminds me of the Hifi Rose RD160, but is less than half the price. Both use the same DAC chip and the engineering and build quality in both is outstanding.<br><br>In terms of chip DACs , the AKM 4499 is my favourite. I have it in a couple of Fiio and Shanling products. I am sticking to R2R with my T Plus, but if it bites the dust one of these would be very tempting, and I doubt I would lose a great deal in terms of SQ.<br><br>Another very satisfying review, Matt.

  I bought the Z10 to be the center of my system. Turntable, CD player and Headless Plexamp connected to the Z10 and then XLR out to my Cambridge CXA81 MK II with Wharfdale Denton 85th speakers. Sounds so incredible.

  Best description of the z10 I&apos;ve heard, I ended up going back to a dmpA8. The z10 was far too honest and ruined about 30% of my music collection 😂

  Got this and the T-8 as well. I’m coming from a Cayin iDAC-8, so it’s not a massive upgrade in terms of sound, but I wanted everything in the system to match and work together cleanly.

  Nice job! &nbsp;DACs and streamers are somewhat FOTM. &nbsp;I stay with separate boxes for <br>DAC, streamer, and HP amp in my main system.

  My Bluesound Node N130 sounded fine, but I added a JDS Labs EL DAC 2 anyway.

  The steamer to beat right now maybe the Ayima HYF100 where you get good sound and the mentioned ST8 HDMI display (as opposed to input).For around $500 you might have some non native nested app issues like with FIIO S15.But these are the best $500 and $1K options and equal in price since you need a $500 DAC with Aima.Doublr the $1K budget and you have A8 option which is the most I&apos;d put into this stuff because none of it will work in 10-14 years where that Luxman could produce music for &nbsp;100 years
