Thank you for taking the time to break down this dense, difficult and beautiful piece of thinking... i will have to study this multiple times over to really get it but this already provides a ton of help. Back to the book now 🤓

Another brilliant lecture from a brilliant teacher! Thanks for the content!

A question arose about Spinoza: is it true that he is a very ambivalent person, because some facts from his biography show that he was radical and stubborn, but on the other hand, there are many reviews about him as a kind-hearted and merciful person? Or is one of the sources withholding information about him?

And I wanted to know who the next lecture would be about, if it's not a secret?

Excellent presentation. I’ve been studying Spinoza for 5 years. May I also recommend Stephen Nadler’s “A Book Forged in Hell”, “Think Least of Death” and “Spinoza, Atheist”

11:13 "Stoicism is all the rage these days" How did we even get to this point? I bet there was always a big interest in Stoic ethics, but now, whenever I enter a philosophy section of any book store, it's just Stoicism and a selection of Continental work (especially within Existentialism). A lot of men and women seem to treat these ancient thinkers like therapy or resources aimed towards status. I would love to see you go over the history and theory of Stoicism if you haven't already.
