DOCUMENTARIO OCCHIO RAGAZZI - IL MOSTRO DI FIRENZE

This documentary about the Monster of Florence recounts one of the most disturbing and complex criminal cases in Italian history, a legal case that held the entire country in suspense for nearly twenty years. Our goal was to approach this story with the utmost respect for the victims and their families, carefully handling extremely sensitive issues. The research that led to the making of this documentary was conducted with great care, drawing on court documents, essays, journalistic investigations, and official archive materials. We also chose to explore, even if only partially, some of the numerous alternative theories that have been developed over the years by enthusiasts and scholars of the case, helping to maintain interest in this dark story. The documentary retraces the entire sequence of the Monster of Florence crimes, which occurred between 1968 and 1985, analyzing in detail the main investigative leads: from the Sardinian trail to the esoteric trail, up to the trials against Pietro Pacciani, the so-called Compagni di Merende, and the hypotheses regarding their possible instigators. In a historical period in which interest in the case has resurfaced—thanks in part to the Netflix series on the Monster of Florence—we wanted to propose a serious, respectful, and well-documented project. In recent times, many content creators have attempted to recount this story, often improvising as experts and producing inaccurate or even disrespectful content, ignoring the suffering of the victims' families. Some have even produced videos at the crime scenes, sparking paranormal investigations of dubious taste or spreading unfounded theories that end up offending the memory of those involved. Our approach is completely different: we wanted to create an "old-school" documentary about the Monster of Florence, based on official and verifiable sources, avoiding any form of sensationalism. The aim was to provide an authentic, profound, and respectful story that would not only entertain but also provoke reflection. This project is the result of over ten years of research and study, a long and passionate effort that has allowed us to accurately reconstruct the facts, investigations, and social and psychological implications of one of the most mysterious cases in Italian crime history. Special thanks go to Massimiliano Esposito @max-dubbi-contraddizioni for his invaluable collaboration and presence during filming; to Devid Guarino for the footage shot in the documentary's introduction; and to Gianluca Maccarone for his essential technical support. The reconstructions featured in the documentary were filmed directly at the actual crime scenes, in studios, and, in part, created with the support of artificial intelligence, always based on official and documented reconstructions. With this work, we wanted to offer an in-depth narrative, faithful to the facts and respectful of historical truth, helping to keep the memory of the victims alive and to stimulate collective reflection on one of the darkest chapters of our recent history.
