Over nine months AF now and I’m loving version 2 of myself.
I’m fitter and healthier and love every morning when I wake up clear headed.
Off to Spain again tomorrow with six heavy drinking family members and I’m completely unfazed by the idea of being the only non drinker.
The old me would have been “practicing “ for my holiday for a week by now. 🍻😀
For the first few months I couldn’t bring myself to say I will never drink alcohol again but I genuinely believe that is now the case.
Thank you Kevin.

Stopping drinking has always been so hard. Staying stopped has been the hardest when I start to feel better but I always went back to where I was and each time it got progressively worse. Seven days into the programme learning drinking is a habit, being coached (which I have never had before) has been more meaningful than any AA focus, rehabs or being hospitalised, or AA mtg. But AA works for a lot of people and I have seen success for many but it never worked for me. I weirdly still feel guilt for never being able to work the 12 steps but in time I hope I’ll be able to let that go. I think it’s where people always said I hadn’t hit rock bottom, and for me it kept driving me to find my rock bottom. I went harder each time to find it, it made me think that jail or death was the only thing that was my rock bottom. Whilst the guilt for not being there for my family, be more present in my job and trying to be the best I could be hit harder than striving for a rock bottom to be able to surrender to the AA first step. This programme resonates so much more and is hitting harder than anything AA steps said. I am lucky and grateful to have found you Kevin and I thank you for your videos and to be able to be a part of your coaching programme.

I am humbled by this and Christ does strengthen me. You're right; it's NOT the booze. It's the head space.

Thanks again sir. Day five again. Withdrawls were horrible. But I have drank 12-14 beers a day for two plus years, retired. Before that it was whiskey or beer after work. I'm done for good this time.

Retired a few years back and ramped up the pints.Often would take a break for 4 or maybe 7 days. Not a hard heavy drinker in some comparisons..Finally realized that going back to the pints for a few days puts my endorphins in my brain right back to the beginning,so another week to actually shake it off..Day four of no beer i was so dragged out i wondered if i was ill.Fourth day worse than the 2nd and third , 7 days seems i,m actually straightening out my head.So many years,Mojo coming back👍Onward

76 days whilst I am eating a few more ice creams than I should once I realised completely how the body breaks down alcohol - namely alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) to turn alcohol (ethanol) into acetaldehyde (Alcohol Metabolism), which is a toxic chemical and the energy the body has to use to just process 1 drink actually less than one drink was enough for me. I am just staying sober for a day. Whenever I get a craving I go back and go through the steps of what my body has to go through to break down 1 drink once I get to acetaldehyde and understand how toxic it is my craving is forgotten.

Again thank you for the video

It’s actually much harder to keep drinking , if you think about it. All that anxiety , depression, confusion and lack of sleep takes its toll. Not to speak of the toxicity of the stuff .

At 78 years of age my cardiologist, to keep me from going into afib, continues to tell me no alcohol. My goal then becomes that but it is still difficult. To have two drinks and then to wake up at 3 AM asking myself why you did leads to an hour and a half of sleeplessness. I guess my goal then becomes more focused on “no.” But perhaps it should be on better health even though in a social setting with friends it is still difficult. Thank you for your videos.
