  When this movie came out I still had a vcr and on it were these 2 dials that controlled the image, you would turn the dials until the image had color and a good resolution. <br>When I rented Van hellsing and the movie started in black and white I lost around 45 minutes on those dials trying to get the color back.<br>When I realized that it was a stylistic choice I never felt dumber...<br><br>Good times

  Vampires couldn&apos;t see their reflections because mirrors used to be backed with a layer of silver, which was considered a &apos;pure&apos; metal, so it didn&apos;t interact with vampires.<br>However, modern mirrors are now backed with aluminium, so they would be able to see their reflections.<br>Make of that what you will.

  This has a lot of similarities to <i>The Mummy</i> because both films were originally meant to take place in the same universe (they are directed by the same guy). They were going to start doing all of the classic horror films in this new style. Shame they never continued with it.

  The werewolf being on the wall is indicative of an abomination. Going against nature. Dio from Jojo&apos;s walks up a wall when he is turned to show that he is no longer bound by human limitations. Dracula and his ilk can fly, but despite wearing shoes, we see him standing on the ceiling. He&apos;s not clinging to it, he&apos;s just... not natural enough to care about gravity.

  Think you guys are missing the best part about the Carl / faramir character. He&apos;s a dead shot with everything he throws. Whether it&apos;s a bundle of bolts to Van Helsing, or a bucket at a devil vampire baby, or even a vial full of the werewolf cure, he doesn&apos;t miss. Literally the most accurate side character I&apos;ve ever seen.

  It has always bothered me, that Universal tried to make their own cinematic universe, but refused to take advantage of The Mummy and Van Helsing as a spring board for it. The had a blueprint in their back pocket for action adventure block busters and established Van Helsing and Rick O&apos;Connell as lead heroes, you just needed a couple more.
