Have Pokemon Games ACTUALLY gotten easier?

  I remember marathoning the Gens in Order back in 2022-2023<br>I think I remember Gen 5 / BWB2W2 being the most challenging of the 9 and Gen 6 / XY being the easiest of the 9

  They should add the challenge mode and easy mode from bw2 as an actual option at the start of the game.

  I think one of the good things of the Gen 9 games was that TMs could be remade just by grinding materials beating wild Pokémon. I mean, I <b>do</b> prefer when you can re-use a TM an infinite amount of times, but if people want more of a challenge and not to be given everything from the start, being &quot;forced&quot; to battle or auto-battle hundreds of wild Pokémon in order to be able to make new TMs is a good thing (and I have to say, wild battles are much more fun in Violet than in previous games imo).

  I started playing in Gen 6, and it was hard because I was dumb and didn&apos;t know type matchups and stuff. Now, as an adult I&apos;ve gone back to play the OG DS games and the GBA games, I can confirm they used to be harder

  X and Y are so absurdly easy that I literally turn off the exp share, don&apos;t even train my mons, don&apos;t use ththe overpowered g1 starters and use way weaker megas instead like Ampharos, Aerodactyl or even friking ABOMASNOW and I still manage to buldoze through the game every playthrough of Y that I do

  The lack of level scaling in Scarlet and Violet made it harder for me since I got sick of flying back and forth between appropriately levelled areas. I dropped it because I was sick of consulting a guide.

  Yeah my rule for gimmicks is if the opponent doesnt use the gimmick then u can&apos;t use the gimmick for fairness.

  I too found Lorelei to be the hardest E4 member as a young man because I go to the pokemon league with a Charizard in the mid 70s my next strongest team member was a mid 30s Nidoqueen

  I think one way the games have gotten easier are improving movesets and tms, which npc trainers don’t make full use of

  I&apos;d like them to simply let me toggle the exp share on and off again, that would already be a nice start :D I think overall the overaccessability of strong items and tms (or at least it feels like they are much easier obtainable) is a big point for me. make something like finding flamethrower actually feel rewarding again and maybe a limit use within the story as you suggest would be a great move for this as well

  It is worth noting that the early game is easier in newer titles. In the past, you started with just five Poké Balls and whatever prize money you won from rivals. <br>Now, you begin with 20–30 Poké Balls and 30,000 in cash.<br> <br>Furthermore, it is very difficult to get stuck or ruin your playthrough these days. Previously, if you planned your team poorly and couldn&apos;t beat a Gym Leader, you had to go back, find a Pokémon that could help, and spend time leveling it up. <br>Now, not only do you not have to worry about training your team evenly, and swapping Pokémon is also incredibly easy. <br>Then there is the broken &quot;Affection&quot; system, which basically wins game for you.<br><br>For me, Gen 5 was generally most balanced in terms of difficulty.
