On your comment of human value.
Different chapters/legions of Space Marines value regular people on a scale of "yes" to "piece of shit"

Just a note about the Thunder Warriors. These were unstable not only mentaly, prone to bouts of brutal rage, but also geneticaly, so they couldn't last that long during space travel for an outward expanding crusade. The survivors from Mount Ararat (real place in modern day Turkey) had to raid laboratories and organs to keep themselves alive. They also seem to understand the Emperors decision to erradicate them, and even during the Horus Heresy fought next to Custodes shouting "For Unity".
One of the reason for the Heresy and Horus betraying the Emperor, was that he learned that the Astartes were also in the chopping block after the Crusades, he learned the Thunder Warriors were destroyed were just tools for the Emperor. Horus didn't want the warriors that bled for the unification of humanity to just be discarded and ruled by humans that knew nothing of their sacrifice. This is one of the many reasons the Emperors keeps secrets.

The chaos gods are fueled by life itself... You cannot live without chaos, but by its nature, it will destroy anything if in excess.

Shout-out to the exorcist chapter who have their aspirants get possessed by a demon and then exercise the demon out of themselves

The book “Angels of Darkness” has a good representation of the selection of aspirants. The Dark Angels are on a feel jungle world getting aspirants. It shows many of the young males of the tribes being sent into the jungle to get a trophy from a predatory animal. After a few of the males are then taken to a hidden chamber, a Chaplain checks them for spiritual strength. One of the boys is found wanting and immediately killed.

In a later Lutin video he brings up a scene where an Inquisitorial retinue is showering post mission and some Grey Knights join them, a woman from the retinue is VERY impressed by the Grey Knights "anatomy" and hits on one who is VERY confused and awkward about what's going on; to the point there is a later scene where said Grey Knight seeks council from their Chaplin where he explains that, paraphrasing, "she wished to procreate with you" long stunned pause "humans are weird" pats him on the shoulder and walks off leaving the Knight to contemplate reality.

So apparently it's all there.

There are references to fully grown men being made into space marines during the heresy…technology regressed over Ten thousand years so until Cawl introduced the primaris younger volunteers were essential.

Generally, Space Marines do care about common people, but they also understand the scale of the Imperium and have a pragmatic view. They'll save who they can and most fight out of a genuine desire to save people. But, they'll also not take unnecessary risks to try to save everyone because they would just end up dying and reduce the numbers that they could save later. It's basically that common idiotic argument of "so it's just about numbers to you?" that self-righteous morons use. Yes, of course it's just about numbers. Saving more people is better, period, and the Imperium deeply understands and values that. Of course, the Imperium and Space Marines also place value on the usefulness of certain people. Like, saving someone who is important for logistics is obviously prioritized over saving someone who digs ditches. Any society that doesn't do that is doomed both in 40K and in real life. Funny how people who argue against that never argue in favor of sacrificing the ditch-digger to save the accountant...

Castrated? No. Sterile? Yes, because the Emperor "wanted them to protect humanity, not replace humanity." At least in old lore. Later lore says they just don't have the drive for it iirc.

Space marine rib cage isn't solid but interlaced. I don't know how that works or the guy writing the lore knows but I think they ment overlapping.

Glad you agree that the fall of the Thunder Warriors was "sus", ma'am.
Dark, indeed. It was NOT a dignified end. Would have been much better if they were given second-line roles as instructors at various military academies for the nascent Astartes (and with historical precedent too, as that was the USAF policy back in WWII regarding their pilot aces, send them back home to become instructors, to teach new recruits--- contrast against Axis treatment of veteran aces, where they are kept serving on the frontlines until they almost inevitably died). If there is further degradation, whether physical or mental, and there is the feeling of "What a waste!" on the invested resources, then go the "Victory or Valhalla!" route. Hold them in reserve, send them as shock troops against all the strongest enemies. Plus, for any other troops witnessing them, their morale and performance would surely be boosted, eh?

"Going out as a group and then slaying each other"
---Yyyyyyeah, are they just prepping for betrayal?

"How do you breathe if your ribs are fused?"
---Heh. Heh. Heh. Exactamente, ma'am.

"Omophagea"
---This is why one tactic of Astartes is to eat slices of enemy brains. No need for torture or interrogation.
This was done by Blood Angels during the third book of the Bloodquest graphic novel series. "Easy" way to gain intel.

Righty-ho, nicely done, ma'am. Keep up the good wrok.
