  Tyler while you guys were enjoying a great trade relationship with China Canada was enduring tariffs put on us for fulfilling are obligation to arresting a Chinese CEO on American request. Then the Chinese government detained two Canadians in deplorable conditions for years while your government didn't back us up and enjoyed all the benefits of trade. That isn't just Trump that's your government.

  The Huawei executive had a home in B.C.  The U.S. wanted her arrested and extradited for espionage.  The U.S. never extradited her, but tried her in absentia.  The trial dragged on.  She stayed in Canada on our dime.  In retaliation, China targeted Canada and arrested two Canadian citizens in China for spying.  They were held in deplorable conditions.  The U.S. didn't make a sound.  She was finally released and flown back to China, but it took some time to get our citizens back.   We got royally screwed by the U.S. and it ruined our trade agreements with China, while the U.S. carried on their agreements with China as if nothing had happened.  That's when we started to realize the U.S. was treating us like the family cow.  Useful, but can't eat at the table with the family.

  After Trump called PM Carney a governor, after Scott Bessent stuck his nose into Alberta's separatist movement and after Pete Hoekstra said the U.S. will have to fly its F-35's into Canadian airspace to protect the U.S. I've had enough. The U.S. is no longer a friend or ally, they are dead to me!

  It is worse than you think. &nbsp;Canada is not the only country diversifying away from the US. &nbsp;<br> &nbsp;Canada, the UK, EU, Japan, etc... are all shifting strategies as the US becomes more unreliable under Trump<br> &nbsp;Put simply, your president is an arrogant idiot that thinks he can bully the whole world.<br> &nbsp;He has destroyed your countries global reputation &nbsp;and long standing alliances to enrich and empower himself at your expense

  Let me be very clear! Canada arrested the Chinese CEO of Huawei at the request of the US government! In retaliation the Chinese government arrested the 2 Canadian Micheals! There was a lot of back and forth trying to extradite the CEO to the US. Which never happened. After she was released Canada managed to get the 2 Micheals released, but it took years!

  America wanted the daughter of Huawei founder arrested so we did. In turn they arrested 2 Canadians. US wanted 100% tariff on Chinese EV&apos;s so Canada obliged and got tariffs put on agriculture in return. And what did we get in return from US ?- threats of annexation, tariffs and constant blackmailing. We !earned our lesson, US can&apos;t be trusted so we have to look elsewhere for partnership s.

  Tyler, the answer to <i>all</i> your &quot;why did Canada do X?&quot; is that the United States asked us to. &nbsp;Asked us to arrest the executive, asked us to tariff the cars, and so on. &nbsp;Complying actually nearly destroyed our canola farmers.

  The man - child that says America doesn`t need anything that Canada makes and then gets bent out of shape when we make deals with other countries. American arrogance will be their downfall.
